Our second week was spent at a very peaceful and roomy bed and breakfast in Kula- in Maui’s upcountry. We had views of both sides of the island and many of our favorite environs were much closer now than when we were in Lahaina. Makawao and Paia with its windsurfing-famed Ho’okipa beach was minutes away instead of the usual hour from Ka’anapali. The road to Hana was a lot more likely for a half day trip because the return was a lot shorter. The B & B was like home away from home. More space than we needed for relaxing, reading and even the unfortunate interruption of work was always amazing. It was like we had our own house there in the upcountry looking out over the pacific and the valley between Maui’s mountains.
